I blogged a while ago about reasons for writing on here. Our esteemed Seth Godin kinda hit the nail on the head, at least from a work-perspective. I’ve always seen this as an opportunity to record snippets of my life and times, and to have them perpetuate for my future interest; but of course there’s absolutely no reason why there wouldn’t be a ton of value doing so for work purposes as well as personal ones. Vive la blog!

Happy iPhone day to everyone in the UK! The start of ch-ch-changes in the mobile industry (well we can but hope). A phone, an iPod, a movie player, a web browser, everything a grown man might want in his mobile. BUT of course anyone remember the v1.0 iPod? Compared to the v6.0 iPod today, or even the iPod Touch? Things could get very interesting very quickly…
But in order to get me to buy one? A difinitive list of must-haves:
- 3G speedy data network (EDGE is sooooo slooooow)
- GPS to tie directly in with Google Maps (to tell me where to walk)
- 32GB minimum memory (so I can finally stop carrying this delicate iPod around with me)
- Bluetooth headphones (gah! wires!!!)
And some really really nice to haves…
- Texting in landscape mode
- Flash and Java in the internet browser
- Cut and paste text (Gah!)
- Open SDK (okay, I’m a geek, just let me write some games on it willya?)
- Accessible and replaceable battery
So I shall be eagerly awaiting v2.0, hopefully sometime Q1 next year when my current contract runs dry. Yummy!

Nice one Capital One. Are they the gods of junk mail or what?
This morning a business envelope was delivered, through the window of which read…
“Dear Occupier”
Never a good start, unless of course your first name is actually “Occupier”, which would be somewhat unfortunate.
“Specially delivered by hand to ensure you received the enclosed”
“Specially”? Can someone please tell me what’s so special about getting one of a billion identical pieces of trash dumped in my post box?
And “by hand”?! Well unless robots have started helping out Royal Mail (probably due to all the strike action lately; a great cost saver so I hear) this really isn’t at all special.
Oh, and “the enclosed”, well, really, who cares by now.
“Please read carefully”
Oh I most certainly think not. Far too late for that now.
Still at least they didn’t make it difficult for me.

Blimey, has it really been 2 whole months?! Well, doesn’t time fly when you’re moving house! Still, I’m moved, settled in, and ready for more writin’…
But just to start off (and boy is there a lot to catch up on), I love this pin display idea, but just can’t wait for someone to put a bunch of itty-bitty LEDs on the ends of those itty-bitty pins, and shove it all in a sexy bit o’ kit!
I bagsy the patent on that one!
