Death, taxes and Warcraft June 10, 2008

The saying goes “In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”. Nicely sardonic in nature, and perfect for a man in the unenviable position of being “between jobs”. It’s funny when you’re not at work how all of a sudden you have all the time in the world to enjoy all of life’s riches, but spend most of it fretting about money (irrespective of how much you have), and looking for another job.

I relocated recently away from a job that served me extremely well for the last four years, but how people put up with being unhappy, stressed, fed-up, bored, angry, and frustrated every working day of their lives still surprises me. Despite my best efforts I knew at least three close colleagues in my last company who were extremely unhappy, but who I expect will still be there at Christmas. Maybe having a quick look at today’s article by Guy Kawasaki would help to set their minds and bodies in motion.

And if money’s the issue, Seth Godin has kindly stepped up to the plate today and given some sage-like advice on how to be careful with money when no long swimming in it.

And to top it all off, placing the proverbial cherry firmly on top of the proverbial cake, yet another article today covering how World of Warcraft can actually save you money!

Well, the planets have truly aligned. Now, not only can you leave your job, you can feel good about it, save money, and play Warcraft without feeling bad about it.

<ahem>

Hehe, glad you liked the post, and thanks for reading. The only thing missing is actually getting _paid_ to play Warcraft. Hmm, will have to put my investigative hat on…
